About the Club and Founder
The club was formed in January 2009 by James Minter to provide a friendly forum for the ever growing number of digital camera users to be found in the North Cotswolds. James, who owns and runs PC Support & Training Ltd, has, in the last year trained over 100 people in various aspects of using a digital camera, and is himself a competent photographer of many years standing. Like many other members he grew up with film using a Minolta SLR, but switched to digital after purchasing his first digital point and click camera in 2000. However, it wasn't until 2006 that he bought his first DSLR (a Canon EOS 350D) and more recently a Canon EOS 450D.
James has an interest in studio portraiture photography in particular but he also has a general interest in capturing images from around the beautiful area in which he lives - the Cotswolds and Bourton on the Water. He is currently working on "My Cotswolds" a personal pictorial guide to this area of outstanding natural beauty.
The club is looking to appoint several members to functional positions including Treasurer to look after the money, and Secretary to look after the affairs of the club, Publicity to get the club known and increase support, and an Events and Exhibitions person to organise the same.
